Last Monday, I was scrolling and soaking up the DBuzz goodness (like ya do) when I saw that D.Buzz was hosting a weekly challenge about #childhood toys/games and would award 15 HIVE to one entry. I immediately looked to my right because next to my desk sitting on a bookshelf was one of my childhood faves, Jacks.
I grabbed the game off the shelf, my phone, and went to the living room. There is nothing quite like the sound of Jacks hitting the floor. It a very distinctive sound which brought a smile to my face. Once everything was in place, I took a photo of the game in all its glory. The photo and story behind my love of Jacks can be seen in the challenge entry here: @shinyobjects/dahur1z5grnj5qepnosyk0
With the game ready for action, naturally, I played a quick onesies game before putting it up. That one game was like a time machine transporting me back to all the summers over my childhood when I played with cousins and friends or was bored at home and played alone. Looking back, I can see how magical those times were for me growing up. Games are like that. They help us learn and grow.
As it was, just going down memory lane and creating the Buzz was a win in itself. So imagine my excitement and surprise when I saw this notification:
"Last Week’s Winner!
By random draw, the winner of last week's challenge is...

I checked my wallet and sure enough, I had an additional 15 HIVE. Since I'm still relatively new to HIVE this was a big boost to my fledgling account. Which is beyond exciting.
In the short time I have been blogging, Buzzing, and gaming on HIVE, I have earned while I am learning. It's such a novel thing, yet it makes more sense than anything else I've done over the last decade. Thank you to D.Buzz, HIVE, and the supportive community for existing and nourishing folks (like me) who are new to the space. Y'all ROCK!
