A unique tradition is followed in Mahalaxmiji Temple in Ratlam Madhya Pradesh in Diwali, devotees hand over their cash, jewelry and other valuables to the priest which is used for decoration of the Garbh Griha of the temple. The cash and other valuables are approximate Rs. 100 crore in value and the temple is running out of space for the keeping these valuables. After Diwali, the devotees get back their belongings, the priest keeps the record and no one had ever complained about the loss of their valuables. The devotees have faith that blessings of goddess Laxmi would give them peace and prosperity.
