Thrifting and reselling is not easy but sometimes it is and luck is also a huge factor but also the skill of the eye and knowledge is crucial. So yesterday I was out and noticed this 1980's Pro Action San Diego Chargers jersey for $12.00 and I was like naw probably not because the 2 on the back looks like the lettering is coming off, although the jersey looks new with no rips and bright color. So it was a bust and I walked out but as I was walking, I thought wait, its old and so I looked it up and theirs only a couple on eBay but not a Chargers one and I said lets get it, so I picked it up and went to cash register and the lady was $6.00 please, in my head I was like wait but It obviously was half of day or whaterver so I said even better. Got this for only $6.00 and I'm going to flip it for sure. So I looked into the name becuase it apperared someone put it on there after the fact becuase it was sewn lettering and the rest was old school stamped paint. So there was a guy that played for the Chargers, James Brooks was drafted with the 24th pick in the first round of the 1981 NFL Draft, and played professionally with the San Diego Chargers (1981–1983), the Cincinnati Bengals (1984–1991), the Cleveland Browns (1992), and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1992).
He was a key participant in two of the most famous games in NFL Lore during his rookie season with the Chargers: The Epic in Miami, and the Freezer Bowl. However, he started only seven games in three seasons with the Chargers, always second on the team to Chuck Muncie in rushing attempts and yards. He had only one 100-yard game with the Chargers, a 12-carry, 105-yard, 3-touchdown outing against his future teammates.[1] In 1984, he was traded to the Bengals for Pete Johnson, a move still widely regarded as the best trade in Bengals franchise history.
So with this being said I listed it and less than 24 hours I had a buyer for $59.99 on an item that I almost walked away from. Not a bad deal at all. Packed it already and its ready for its new owner. Thanks for the business my friend. Just a little story time from a reseller, moral of the story if you have the gut on something, go for it and do it. Regardless.. Thanks for reading my story...... Have a Blessed day
