When I woke up this morning, the sound of rain was ringing in my ears. As soon as I opened the window curtains, I saw a wonderful scene. The field outside was soaked in rainwater, and a group of children were playing football on that muddy field. Seeing this scene, I felt like I was standing in the present for a moment and lost in the past.
Our childhood was free from mechanics. We didn't have smartphones or tablets in our hands like today. Our main source of entertainment was the open field and the change of seasons. Whenever it rained, a kind of madness would work within us. Even though adults advised us to stay indoors, we would look for opportunities to get wet in the rain.
Looking at the picture, it seems that these children are not just playing football, they are celebrating the purest joy of life. The satisfaction of scoring a goal on a muddy body on a rainy day cannot be given by any expensive video game. The desire to play one more round, shivering in the cold, is still fresh in my heart.
Nowadays, the fields are disappearing in the rush of urbanization. Children are now trapped within four walls. But today's scene reminded me that the familiar form of rural Bengal is still alive somewhere. The combination of rainwater, the sweet smell of soil, and the chatter of children is a different kind of tranquility.
We lose many things in the mechanics of busy life. But sometimes, some scenes of nature stir the memories stored deep in our hearts. It is not possible to get back childhood, but we can find our lost days in these children.
This rainy morning reminded me that life is about finding small joys, just like these children are finding them while playing in the mud and water.
If you have any funny memories of rainy days in your childhood, please share them.
This was my arrangement for today. I hope you liked the pictures I took and the nature observations. Wishing everyone good health, I bid you farewell here today.
