Hello everyone, my name is Sochima Stanley Okafor. I am a short young man, no offense, but I have to be real with you guys. I'm 17 years old from Igbo tribe and reside in Owerri Imo State, the heartland of Nigeria.
I'm glad that I found a place like Hive where people interact with other people from different worlds and most especially, connect with other people's perspectives. The truth about my excitement is that I feel blessed finding a platform that doesn't stress people's life with perfect grammar. To be honest before I wrote my JAMB, will I say I was choking myself or the internet looking for where I can earn side hustle income but I saw myself with Opera News Hub. At first I was glad because finally I'll be doing something real, not knowing that these guys wanted me to be a grammarian or will I say a robot cause after my research and everything, it's either they say "my work is junk" or "wrong spelling" or "incomplete" or "wrong grammar". Even to an extent I had to allow Meta AI write everything for me so it looks like a linguistic professional wrote it, but they said the same thing. I wish I took a photo of me looking so depressed that evening after trying 4 times.
Well I know you guys would be thinking why I decided to use that name ? To answer the question, I love my height, I'm shy though but there are so many funny experiences I've had concerning my height which I would be honoured to tell you all guys everything without hiding any detail, I promise you will laugh and laugh till the end of every story I tell.
I forgot to share my experience with the JAMB exam. The truth is, I went through hell preparing for this particular examination called JAMB (Joint Admission Matriculation Board) to the extent, I couldn't understand myself anymore like as if I'm going nuts, like my Mathematics teacher a man who always say to a student who disturbs in class "are you going bananas". Two days before the exam I began to have cold feet. The funniest part of it is, I started remembering funny past when I was with my guy which made me to laugh, my mom looked at me like I've gone psych. A day remaining, I decided to keep my mouth shut till I take that JAMB and guess what, I actually took the JAMB with 7 minutes remaining to click "End exam". After few days of feeling depressed, I checked my results using SMS thinking I'll fail or would I say have failed already, but shockingly I received the text message showing that I scored with an aggregate of 220 with Mathematics being my highest score "68". Now that, I have crossed the bridge, remaining the lagoon (WAEC) which I must pass through.
After my Senior High school 2 (SS2) I enrolled in a lesson center because of my JAMB, but as time evolved, when I was still scraping the internet looking for where to earn money as a young teenager, a friend in the lesson, his name is Samuel, during our discussion told me that he has written an Alpha story before on "Stary Writer" and earned close to 50k (Fifty Thousand naira). He said that people their who where foreigners always comment for more chapters, he got tired and decided to leave it till he finish his JAMB exam.
When I got home that day I realized I was a true writer, images and ideas flooded my brain and I began to write on the middle pages of a new excersice book. Each chapter occupied 4 pages with my tiny handwriting apart from chapter 4 which occupied 8 pages. There are times that as I write I feel maybe no one would read it or like it, I mean there are so many novels and romantasy stories, who would even read mine when they don't even know the person or maybe because the person isn't famous.

The image above is the cover book of my story, a guy who's name is Noble Alex, all thanks to him for his help, drew it for me. He sat beside me one day in lesson, saw me bringing out pages of paper and grabbed one without my notice. I never knew, though I later realized that he was with chapter 1. The next minute he told me that the story is nice, I wouldn't lie to you guys, he begged me for chapter 2 and I gave him. I actually told him that I was looking for someone who would draw the cover page of my story and he told me to send him the picture of how I want it to look like. After everything though I showed him the one from the internet, but he decided to draw for me something different based on what he read from the story. I was very impressed that someone actually read my story. I stopped because of my exams, planning to continue anytime soon.
I'm also a fan of technology, most especially coding and programming. When I was in JSS3 (Junior High school 3) I begged my parents to get me a laptop so I could learn coding but they refused and I lavished my 3 months vacation at home and following my dad to his shop. I never stopped dreaming, I even took a challenge to save further for a laptop though I was saving since JSS 1. From the little my dad gave me, even when it wasn't enough for me, God still brought people who helped me with my transport fee, those little money plus starving myself during lunch time, I gathered all of them and saved them till I left the school SS2 third term ending. I saved up to 100k, and fortunate for me, a Yoruba man who liked my character bought a laptop for me though I added 50k, he bought the laptop for 140k. But because I lacked experience, the remaining money, while I was looking for side hustle in the internet when I got this phone which is the first smartphone I'm using, I got scammed 39k, and just recently I got scammed again 25k, now I'm stranded after everything I passed through.
I want to learn JavaScript and become a full stack, since my parents don't want to support me, I have to keep pushing and I believe, with consistency in this platform and other menial work I do, I'll make enough money to enroll myself where I can be trained properly. I have this ambition to build a very unique app for writers even those who can't write good grammar or have less idea to write, hoping that one day, I'll revolutionize writing experience cause I've been there and I know exactly what writers pass through.
I hope you guys don't mind my grammar and punctuations. I'm glad I'm able to introduce myself to you all. I hope you guys don't reject short people because I'm planning to stand very tall on this Blockchain.
