Firstly I must say , I drive an electric vehicle myself and although its not a Tesla I love it to bits.
Electric cars are so smooth and quite and Quick...... Yes i said quick, not fast but quick . The speed Limit in the UK is 70mph and it does more than that comfortably.
The acceleration from a standing start would even surprise even a Porsche driver up to about 45mph.
Currently I am on my holidays with the family stopping in a caravan site in Scotland, and yes we drove in the electric car all the way, and yes it is further than the cars actual range but its not a problem.
My car doesn't have a massive range span , its about 80 miles, but with kids in the car and a dog its about as far as i want to drive before having to exit the car for a brain recharge.. at that point , just plug the car into a rapid charger and 20-30 mins later you can carry on your merry way.
First thing i did when i got to my destination was plug my car into the normal plug socket in the caravan and topped up the charge.
The total cost for me to drive about 150 miles is a massive £0......
Guess how much to go home .. yes that's right £0
So If they are so cheap to run, why are more people not moving to EV's? Personally I believe it because people are worried about running out of charge, or having a long journey... It really isn't a problem unless you do really high mileages most days, Most people don't do anywhere near 70-80 miles every day anyway.
I don't pay road ta either, and in most places where you charge you don't pay for parking either.....
