An happy Tuesday to you all!
This morning, while I was cleaning some shelves in the lab room, I found some sheets of an handmade paper we bought many years ago. It looks like a sort of vegetable paper, but I don't remember what kind of plant the maker used to make this one. It is lightweight yet durable and I'm very intrigued by the beautiful texture of this paper, so I cut it in a rectangle shapes to use it as surface for some of my (funny) animals!
You can see the final result in the following pics:
Before to use my brashes and my oil colors on the scraps, I used one of the rubber stamps in form of plants I made by myself years ago to represent a sort of field on the background.
Just after I started to paint 2 of my favorite subjects in my own illustrative style: the (fat) bird and the (freaky) sheep! I just painted the animals, but I didn't give colors to the other parts of the paper because I like how the texture of that paper works with my animals.
Sure, as usual, I took some pics while I was working on them to share with you the process too:
I like the final result, every piece is in A6 size, the same size of a postal card and I think I'll paint some other similar ones.
I hope you like them!
See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia
