Hello hivers, an happy Tuesday to you all.
Yesterday I teached art to the kids for a couple of hours and, as usual, it was funny to work with them trying to focus their attention on the drawings around the table. After a couple of months together during the art class they now are really friendly with me and each others and so they love to chat a lot during the lessons (it's not so simple fo them to stay focused on what they are doing after the school, as you can understand 😁), but they have fun drawing and paintings with me. ❤️
Now I'm here to share with you, as I promised, the second part of the art exhibition by the artist Marino Marini (1901-1980) I visited with my hubby a couple of weeks ago. At first, you can read more about the artist Marini here.
As I wrote in my previous post about this art exhibition, Marini was born in Pistoia and, even if since he was a young adult he lived in different cities, there are many paintings and sculptures here in my city, included an entire museum.
This art exhibition was inside the Palazzo Fabroni, a beautiful ancient building in Pistoia and every room where there are the paintings and the sculptures by Marini has a theme. In this second part I want to tell you more about the female subjects, starting from the Pomona, sculptures inspired by the ancient myth of abundance and fertility.
At first, on a side of the room there are 3 small bronze sculptures called "Pomona", each one in a different pose.
In the same room there are some paintings about similar female figures. The following painting (an oil painting on canvas) represent 3 figures in the shades of blue. Marini used different colors to represent male and female figures. For the first ones he used strong colors like red and black, for the second one he used light blue and other soft shades of colors.
My hubby while we were watching the paintings there. He knows very well the artworks by Marini, because his Maestro was a friend of Marini.
In the following pics you can see other paintings on the same theme: the pomona and the female representation. Soft bodies,soft colors and, to be honest, I like so much this way to represent the female figures and theys female energy. ❤️
