Hello hivers, an happy Monday to you all! Another warm sunny day here and the hair smell of springtime flowers. While my older furry friend Nanny is sleeping hard on my sofa, the younger Bimba is playing outside jumping on my plum tree and hunting the flies around. Just an ordinary day in my backyard. 😊
A couple of days ago one of my friend asked me to paint some tiny artworks about the blue Nymphea flowers because he published a small book about his journey in Sri Lanka (he's a photographer) to give them to some of his friends as a sort of bookmark for the book.
Maybe you noticed I don't use to paint flowers in my artworks and when I do it I use just few strokes of colors to represent them, but he is a friend and so I'm painting 6 tiny (simple) blue Nymphea for him.
This morning, as usual, I woke up soon to work on them and, after some different sketches to understand the better way to represent the flower, I painted these ones:
I watched many pics about the nymphea flowers and they are so so beautiful, but it was not so simple for me to paint them in my own style.
To paint them I'm using my oil colors on handmade paper and,as usual, I took some pics while I was painting it so you can see the process too:
I hope you like them!
See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia
