Good day Steemian welcome to today's Steem price update for 5/12/2018 I have been posting the Steem price update since almost the very beginning of Steemit.com many have came here to discuss the daily Steem prices and changes for just over 2 years now.
I also want to mention just incase your thinking something doesn't seem normal from the other regular Price update posts that the daily Steem price posts do slightly change from time to time.
But regardless of changes we will carry on as usual and by this I mean knowing the price of Steem as its important for your daily plan or strategy and honestly even if you are not planing to do anything with your Steem I still recommend checking out these updates and keeping an eye on the price, so without further ado lets take a look at today's Daily Steem Price Change for 5/12/2018
Should you be trading with Steem today..
Oh dam so we are breaking records again with low prices we have fallen under the $0.30 mark since around ⏰17.00 if we check with Bitcoin we can see it's definitely fallen again, its now under the $3700 mark, what is worrying is Bitcoin was even lower on Nov 26th and Steem still held-on better at the time, so could this lower value be down to recent selling over the Steem INC news? Probably not, as it seems like myself and most good Steem holders we are kind of sitting on the fence and seeing if Steem INC can deliver on their new promises. Is this cheap Steem at $0.29 a surprise for us? No not at all, I have been saying that there is this possibility Bitcoin would go down further pushing Steem lower and this continues to be the case until something suddenly changes. And so I welcome you into this new survival mode era of Steemit.com after a staff reduction of %70, the news from 8 days ago by Ned. This is because Bitcoin dropped alot lately and is forcing Steem's own value to tank downwards. Soon after the announcement there was a special live get-together for discussing 👍 what could happen going forward. And it starts with Steem INC cutting down on more costs e.g the "api.steemit.com" functionalities will be moved to the hivemind service, among many other strategies, there is talk that Blocktrades might have a solution for saving Steem INC, also there will be another meeting on all this progress so far soon. / SBD was expected to go down but not this far and so quickly.. yikes, we are now seeing SBD falling to $0.73 which happened about 2 hours ago, the downfall started at ⏰14.30 shame as SBD was in a nice place at $0.80.
