Hello fellow musicians, producers, singer/songwriters, artists and people who just sing under the shower!
I just saw this video on youtube and felt the need to share this. In this 20 min. long video, the user "Thoughty2" on youtube explains in a solid in scientifically way, why modern pop music has become what it is today:
TOTAL CRAP
Some important topics here are:
- brainwashing strategies of the music industry (the "mere-exposure effect")
- comparison between modern and "old" music (scientifically)
- the loss of quality in arrangement & variety in modern music
- why the top twenty pop artist all have the SAME SONGWRITERS (Max Martin / Lukasz Gottwald)
- the "millenial whoop" effect in pop lyrics ("same sh*t, different day")
- the decay in lyrics
- why the music industry doesn't support unique artists and choses to stuff millions into pretty replacable young people to sell the same stuff over and over again
- "the loudness war" and the loss of dynamic range and nuances in modern music
Actually, i started to produce my own music, because im sick of this decay regarding modern music.
