MY SWING, FRANK SINATRA & JAZZ
El Gran Frank Sinatra creo que es la mejor representación de cantantes exponentes del género Jazz. Nací en los 90 y recibí demasiada influencia de estilos variados del espectro Pop, a través de radio y TV, pero mi papá siempre escuchó música clásica, jazz entre toda ella, y aunque antes me burlaba un poco por la expresividad particular de los cantantes que la interpretan, con el tiempo cuando me vi en la necesidad de recurrir a algunas herramientas vocales para crear mis interpretaciones, muchas de ellas surgieron hacia ese estilo: la fuerza, las inflexiones, hasta armónicamente tendía hacia ese sentido inconscientemente. Muy bueno, ¿no? Bueno, no siempre.
The Great Frank Sinatra is, from my point of view, the best representation of Jazz singers. I was born in the 90's and received so much influence from very different music genres of Pop Specter, through radio and TV, but my father always listened to classical music, Jazz between others, and though I used to make a little fun about that particular expressiveness in Jazz vocal performing, through time when I saw myself in the need of owning my voice and creating my style to perform, well, some vocal tools merged tending to that swing: the strength, inflections, even harmonically. It seems to be something kind of nice, right? Well, not completely.
No siempre fue tan bueno porque tengo un padre bastante quisquilloso musicalmente, así que el efecto que surtió su influencia en mí no colaboró mucho a que él entendiera mis argumentos técnicos, lo cual me frustró en parte porque yo misma tampoco comprendía muy bien. Con el tiempo, explorando un poco en la intención que cada técnica y estilo vocal proyecta, me he conectado mejor con las herramientas de las que dispongo y, como compositora, sí, ¡es muy bueno!
It wasn't so good, because I still share music with my father, and he is a little picky about music, so what his influence caused me didn't collaborate too much for him to understand my technical arguments, which frustrated me a bit because even myself didn't understand enough. Now that I have explored more the intentionality behind every technique and vocal style, I've connected better with my own tools, and as a songwriter, yes, it is pretty awesome!
