When I get together with my girlfriends, all we do is have some homemade drinks, tell funny stories and jokes and giggle a lot! We also swap different recipes... And here is my secret recipe...
MAMMA'S CHERRY LIQUEUR SECRET RECIPE - POLISH WISNIOWKA
Have you ever tried homemade liqueur? It's superdelicious and surprisingly easy to make.I remember my mom making it every year... All you need is 3 ingredients: cherries (or other fruit), sugar and alcohol of course. What's more, how great it would be to treat your guests to a shot of homemade liqueur or offer them a bottle as a gift?
Today I'll show you how to do it with step by step photos. But before we move on to the recipe there are few things to be told:
Firtstly, if you don't like cherries or can't find them easily you can always choose other fruits such as: blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, orange or lemon. Of course the sugar ratio would be slightly different as some of the fruits are sweeter than others.
Secondly, the recipe asks for a refined alcohol which has 95 % of alcohol - but if you can't find it in your store (just like me) use the Spirytus which has 75 % of alcohol or Vodka.
INGREDIENTS:
3 bottles x 0,5 Alcohol/Vodka
1 kg of Sugar
3 kg of Ripe Cherries
EQUIPMENT
A large glass jar
Glass bottles for the final product
Cherry Stoner
A bowl
Small funnel
STEP 1: Wash the cherries and pick off any stems and leaves
[my husband's helping hand]
2. Place a layer of cherries in the bottom followed by a layer of sugar.
3. Pour Alcohol over and cover the jar. Leave it in a dark place. For the next 7 days stir everything with a long spoon every day until the suger is melted.
You can enjoy your liqueur after 7 days but the longer you leave it (e.g. even up to 6 months) the better. I guess it all depends on your will-power. Mine turned out to be very week as I taste it right now (after only 11 days - it's delicious!!!!!!!)
So let's sip some of this beautiful ruby liquid and drink for the success of STEEMIT PLATFORM.
