Tsivlou is one of the most beautiful lakes I've seen in Greece. Magically fresh colours and tranquil environment.
Tsivlou lake is in Achaia region in Peloponnese peninsula. It is a natural lake at the altitude of 800 meters, which was formed when a landslide blocked the river in 1913. The blue green water of the lake and the unspoilt nature around it makes a picturesque landscape.
I visited Tsivlou lake as part of my weekend trip to Northern Peloponnese in May two years ago. To get there I drove from Athens towards Patras and after reaching the Aigeira village, I turned to the side road going through the mountains towards the lake. The route itself is enjoyable as the road goes through the mountains. It is a perfect place for a peaceful day, refreshing swim or picnic!
The Peloponnese peninsula has diverse nature and is full of interesting places to explore. Tsivlou lake was one of my favourite finds but I will share more in my upcoming posts.
