Life has a weird way of bringing what your soul wants into your life when you need it most.
I have been in a bit of a down mood the last while. To combat that I decided to go through my blog and read some of my older posts. A few things surprised me while doing so. One of those surprises was how long it has been since I wrote a children's story. The next interesting thing I found was I had never made the story I wrote called The Stars into a children's video. I decided to fix that oversight late last night.
The first thing I did was dust off Mrs. Bunny from the Facerig vault. From there I did a few takes reading the story and recording it right on Facerig, as you can see below. The software is pretty user-friendly to record yourself in.
I will say it does take a bit more time to render a video this way then if you use OBS to record through. How you decide to record your video in Facerig comes down to what programs you have and how much time you have. Either way works just fine in the end.
I love using the green screen background for children's videos. This way I can place Mrs. Bunny in any kind of background I want. It takes a bit more time this way but to me, the extra time is worth it when looking at the final video.
I use backdrops I have made and filmed from a game called Rift I use to play. The bright colors that come through and the fantasy type backdrops behind Mrs. Bunny, as she reads out loud the stories, always make me smile.
In order to get the voice to stay stable and match Mrs. Bunny through the whole video, I have found I have to render the video in pieces. Mrs. Bunny and the background are the first renders. Adding text and any background overlays come next.
While adding the text in small bits I also have to make sure the words match exactly what I have said. It's amazing when it's late at night how you can skip over whole sections of text while reading out loud and recording video. Most times I do not even realize it has happened until I am trying to match the subtitle's to what is being said in the video. 😂
I honestly think the hardest part is the converting wait time. The more fun stuff, overlays, subtitles, sparklies, you add to a video the longer it takes to convert. Times that by four and you end up going to bed while your computer does the work for you. You might, just might, think about getting back out of bed to double check if it's done but you hold back and soon fall asleep. Maybe. Hopefully. Please, let me sleep! 😆
I hope you enjoy watching the newest children's video below as much as I did finding the story I wrote three months ago and bringing a bit more life into it as I did.
Make someone smile today! It can not hurt either of you.
