Welcome to the latest edition of the SoCal Steemit Visiting Hour post!

Every tuesday at 8pm Hive account@socalsteemit is doing a weekly voice and text chat for the members in our Discord server! Here we'll be giving a short summary of our previous chat and bring up potential topics for the next upcoming chat.

Last Nights Visiting Hour

In the last SoCal Visiting Hour we had Hive account@mariannewest, Hive account@csusbgeochem1, and myself(Hive account@derekrichardson) all join in the conversation!

We mostly talked about trying to plan future meetups. We discussed possible dates and locations. In March Hive account@melbookermusic is having a concert in LA that he thinks would be good for a meetup. I'll need to talk with him a bit more to get the details, but we all liked that idea. In the beginning of February we were thinking of doing a meetup somewhere in Riverside county as it's a pretty central location. We didn't decide on a location or date yet so if anyone has any ideas/recommendations be sure to leave them in the comments. Hive account@csusbgeochem1 had a few good ideas, the one we liked the most was a bowling alley he knows about in Corona. That could be fun! The three of us are all really busy in January, but I'd still like to try to meetup one day this month if there is anyone else interested. Let me know and we can chat about it in the comments below or on Discord.

Next we talked a bit about state of the group and Steemit overall. We talked about our membership and all the participation we've been getting in the contests we've been running! I talked a bit about how I feel like I struggle with the Mystery Photo post. It is such a hard balance to try to not make it too hard, but not too easy either. Despite my concerns Hive account@mariannewest and Hive account@csusbgeochem1 both think I'm doing a good job on it. The participation has been growing. And I'm especially happy with all the really great guesses we've got so far this week!

Hive account@mariannewest had to leave the chat a bit early, but Hive account@csusbgeochem1 and myself finished out the hour with some small talk about what we've been up to. Hive account@csusbgeochem1 just got an old gas powered golf cart from Hive account@mattlovell and Hive account@creationofcare and he's looking forward to working on it and getting it all fixed up! I'm gonna be leaving on a trip up the San Gabriel river to go gold prospecting for a few days. So wish me luck! Hive account@csusbgeochem1 will be covering for me while I'm gone, so if anyone needs anything just give him a shout on discord. I'll be back friday evening.

Next Tuesday

In next Tuesdays SoCal Visiting Hour we'd like to talk more about planning meetups and I'd like to talk about more post ideas for the Hive account@socalsteemit account because as of right now we have nothing happening on saturdays. We'd really love to hear all your ideas, recommendations, tips, critiques, etc.. the more input the better! And of course we can talk about anything else that any members would like to bring up and discuss! So again, it's tuesday at 8pm in the SoCal Steemit Discord server. If you are not equipped to voice chat or are a bit intimidated to get on a mic, feel free to come listen to the chat and communicate with the group through the corresponding text channel. We'd love to have everyone come join the conversation!!
