Welcome to the latest edition of the SoCal Steemit Visiting Hour post!

Every tuesday at 8pm Hive account@socalsteemit is doing a weekly voice and text chat for the members in our Discord server! Here we'll be giving a short summary of our previous chat and bring up potential topics for the next upcoming chat.

Last Nights Visiting Hour

In the last SoCal Visiting Hour we had Hive account@mariannewest, Hive account@csusbgeochem1, Hive account@mattlovell, Hive account@creationofcare, and myself (Hive account@derekrichardson) all join in the conversation! We started by sharing some of our stories from thanksgiving.

I spent my thanksgiving in Arizona, which got us talking a bit about Arizona. Hive account@mariannewest's husband has been out there working on the Navajo Nation for awhile, but will be coming back to California soon. Hive account@mattlovell told us he is planning to visit Flagstaff to purchase rabbits for farming. Him and Hive account@creationofcare are going to start farming rabbits for food. Hive account@mariannewest told us she has been raising meal worms... also for food. Then we wrapped up the odd foods conversation talking about eating acorns.

Next we brought up the Mystery Photo Fridays post. Instead of adding all the clues on the initial post, Hive account@mariannewest recommended we give the additional clues at the bottom of some of our other posts throughout the week. We all agreed it sounded like a good idea that could help increase participation. So we'll be starting to do that with this fridays contest!

We also talked a bit more about the Hive account@cleanplanet initiative and how we'd love to get involved and possibly even organize a SoCal Steemit "clean up" event sometime!

Then before signing out Hive account@mattlovell told Hive account@csusbgeochem1 and I about the "Community Emergency Response Team" that he is a part of and he invited us both to the 20 hour training course coming up in January. I think it's a great opportunity for us and I'm really looking forward to it! Because failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

Next Tuesday

In next Tuesdays SoCal Visiting Hour we'd like to talk about ideas for future meetups (or clean ups), we'll talk about Decembers posting schedule, and then anything else any members would like to bring up and discuss! So again, it's tuesday at 8pm in the SoCal Steemit Discord server. If you are not equipped to voice chat or are a bit intimidated to get on a mic, feel free to come listen to the chat and communicate with the group through the corresponding text channel. We'd love to have everyone come join the conversation!!
