In the last SoCal Visiting Hour we had 
We started off by congratulating
Next we talked about the benefits of joining 
Then we discussed a big issue that's been on my mind ever since Steemfest 3 and especially since @Ned's announcement of the sunsetting of Steemit.com. The Steem blockchain ecosystem is growing and expanding with the many different apps being built for it. Being branded with the word Steemit in our name limits us to being named after a single user interface. So we discussed the possibility of rebranding SoCal Steemit. Of course this would be quite a big ordeal. Starting a new account, transferring SP, getting a new delegation, reapplying with Qurator, re growing our base of followers, designing new logos, the list goes on and on. It's not really something I'd like to do, but if it's better for our future it's something to consider. Maybe 'Steem SoCal' or 'Team SoCal' or something else like that.
After that we talked a bit about the recent difficulties of on boarding new members or even retaining the activity of current members. It's been tough, especially with the price being so low right now.
Lastly we made a plan for posting during my upcoming absence. I'm going to Big Sur to meet

In next Tuesdays SoCal Visiting Hour we'd like to talk about ideas for onboarding and retaining new members, ideas for future in person meetups, any ideas about the rebranding, and anything else any members would like to bring up and discuss! So again, it's tuesday at 8pm in the SoCal Steemit Discord server. If you are not equipped to voice chat or are a bit intimidated to get on a mic, feel free to come listen to the chat and communicate with the group through the corresponding text channel. We'd love to have everyone come join the conversation!!
