Long ago any town you arrived in no matter where you were you could see its steeple, now the tallest is a bank.
A tribute to the most important thing in that regions culture. Almost all religions did this through out history. It was a symbol of who holds the true power and should never have a problem finding the path to God's house.
(There would have been a lot less buildings 150 years ago).
As I wandered around Montreal I couldn't help but notice this particular steeple visible from afar peering at them through buildings.
Eventually I found my way to its steps. This isn't even a big church for Montreal, there some three times bigger at least .
Even after continuing past it could be seen from the other direction from just as far.
Seen all the way from here; where ever it is I am at this moment, it feels far because I walked and it's hot.
Today it seems banks are the most powerful thing in any culture. You can love and worship God all you want but you can't deny when many people are in trouble or need some help they will probably think of money and how it will solve the issue or create happiness. Even the churches need money, lots of it.
Keep that in mind next time you find yourself in need of a fixing; just look up at the tallest building and that's who has you by the gonads.
