To my surprise when she said she was coming over for dinner I didn't think she'd be cooking from scratch.
In the short time we've been dating we haven't really cooked much for each other too much. I cooked for her twice already, the first time was breakfast 😉 . So sweet of her, hope she treats me to some home cooking again. Luckily I also like cooking but I think I will have to up my game from easy bachelor life food. We'll see what I can do.
First up we have Cola Chicken Wings
See end of post for recipe
These were delicious, I think I asked her a few weeks ago if she knew how to make it because it's been a while since I last had them. They used be in most family restaurants but I think they fell out of fashion. However they are still an awesome way to have braised chicken wings.
Fried Rice with Sliced Chinese Sausages
Boiled Pipa Shrimp.
I have never seen this in Canada. It's quite popular in Dalian as it's a seafood city. I'm sure these guys are easy to farm keeping the price reasonable. I added a dish of melted butter, almost just like little lobsters but a different texture.
I provided the Swedish Dane Chocolate cake. I didn't bake it, I bought it at Ikea frozen. I will be buying another and another and another.
It was a nice dinner. I wonder if leaving flowers on her car on the first know had anything to do with it.
Cola Chicken Wings Recipe
This recipe uses a wok for braising. If you don't have a wok, you can use a dutch oven or a thick skillet.
