I have been to Thailand a few times now and I´ve noticed some weather changes. Phuket has a monsoonal climate which feels still comfortable. It is warm all year and it usually rains the most in May, September and October which is simply because the monsoon winds from southwest start to come to Phuket. BUT we´ve come to Phuket in January which is called the cool season and should be the best time to visit the Island. There is lots of blue sky, very little rainfall, lower humidity and the temperatures are comfortably hot. After being here for three weeks, I´ve noticed a lot of rain. This is very unusual for Phuket and I thought I share some experiences with you...
A rainy day is nothing worth to talk about but the last few days have been pretty crazy over here. Two days ago I was on my way to the gym as usual. Since it was almost 11 pm, my actual fitness club was already closed so I went to the last open that was open. I do not take any taxis over here unless I´m busy because everything is so close and you dont need any vehicles! There is one specific street with literally no shops, no taxi stands, no humanity and no hotels at all. After walking half way along this street it started to rain. But not only rain, a monsoon hit the city and I got wet as I jumped in a pool. It went down into my socks, even my underwear was soaked. But I made my way through, bought some new socks and everything was fine when I made it to civilization again. It was still hot so my clothes dried very quickly.
Last night I was much more prepared. I went out to the gym as usual, went to my favorite Indian restaurant and ate some delicious chicken madras which is my favorite Indian dish. I had a good night but while I was going home, the monsoon started again. All shops were still open so I had a roof above me and lots of entertainment while waiting until the storm stopped. I also bought a rain-cape, put off my shoes and went home after the rain decreased. I got home safely and luckily recorded some moments.
I am just wondering if the seasons are changing? Or is it just a storm which is going to leave soon?
