La ideología de algunos pocos atrapa al resto como una red de peces, juntándolos en una realidad buena para unos y malas para otros. Puedes creer que la hamburguesa es mala, aunque para el que la come es un autentico manjar. Crash Landing on You es una representación muy cercana a un choque de visiones, pero personificada en dos simples mortales con roles distintos, injertos en el poder, sí, pero en un contexto diferente.
¿A qué me refiero?
Quizás deba volver al ejemplo de la hamburguesa. Supongamos que una mujer llamada Victoria (me encanta ese nombre, XD) se enamora de Alex. Aunque ambos aman las hamburguesas, Victoria es vegana pero Alex ama la carne. Ahora debo preguntarte, ¿eso disminuye algo del amor entre ellos? O sea, ambos tienen sus diferencias, pero al fin y al cabo los une un mismo patrón. Tanto ella como él pueden lidiar con sus discrepancias y vivir una extraordinaria vida en pareja, obviamente, con sus altos y bajos. Ahora bien, podemos relacionar esta ejemplificación con la serie Crash Landing on You, la península coreana es la hamburguesa, Alex y su gusto por la carne es Corea del Norte y victoria y su mundo vegetariano es Corea del Sur.

Crash Landing on You es una historia de cambio de roles, tallada en las vueltas que da la vida y en las inesperadas situaciones en las nos pone. Un día Yoon Se-ri estaba feliz en su mundo millonario y de un instante a otro se encontraba guindando de su paracaídas en un árbol de la tierra norcoreana, rodeada minas y en la compañía de un “camarada” del ejército militar. ¿Comodidades? ¿Lujos? ¿Energía eléctrica permanente? Todo se escapa de sus ojos como se escapan las hormigas de las celdas de azúcar. Pero, aún existen oportunidades para su regreso, aunque antes debe aprender lo que ninguna escuela cara pudo enseñarle: la empatía.
Alguna vez escuché la siguiente frase: “Debes vivirlo para entenderlo”. Es curioso que este dorama no muestre una campaña abiertamente peyorativa en contra del sistema norcoreano, o sea, no emplea una imagen denigrante de dicho pueblo, más bien lo respeta e intenta tallar la realidad del conflicto desde una perspectiva responsable, si es que puede llamarse así. Tal vez se intentó marcar el calor humano de los norcoreanos, su sensibilidad, fragilidad e incluso su belleza.
Sin embargo, los aspectos visibles de la crisis de Corea del Norte fueron evidentes: cortes de luz, racionamiento de agua, un régimen militar y una estricta y rigurosa vigilancia. Es en este punto donde Ri Jeong, nuestro capitán protagonista, ubicará a una Yoon Se-ri en la nueva y amenazante realidad en la que se encuentra. ¿Qué harías tú en una situación así? No podría imaginar yo un escenario de tal magnitud, a pesar de que ya vivo en un país con un poco de esa corriente idealista norcoreana.

I once heard the following phrase: "You must live it to understand it". It is curious that this drama does not show an openly pejorative campaign against the North Korean system, that is, it does not use a denigrating image of said people, rather it respects it and tries to carve the reality of the conflict from a responsible perspective, if it can be called So. Perhaps an attempt was made to mark the human warmth of the North Koreans, their sensitivity, fragility, and even their beauty.
However, the visible aspects of the North Korean crisis were evident: power outages, water rationing, a military regime and strict and rigorous surveillance. It is at this point where Ri Jeong, our main character captain, will place a Yoon Se-ri in the new and threatening reality in which she finds herself. What would you do in such a situation? I could not imagine a scenario of such magnitude, despite the fact that I already live in a country with a bit of that idealistic North Korean current.
Can love overcome idealisms?
Ri Jeong y Yoon Se-ri, a pesar de que ambos vivieron en extremos diferentes de la península coreana (un extremo con mucha tecnología y el otro con mucha represión, XD) logran cultivar una conexión poderosa. El viaje a la libertad los conecta y les permite borrar esa visión antigua que ambos tenían sobre sus países. Los más inusual de todo es que, a pesar de que se aman, ninguno de los dos logra desechar del todo sus corrientes ideológicas. Ellos siguen siendo ellos, a pesar de que se aman con el corazón.
Lo que me gusta de los doramas es la forma tan genuina con la que cuentan una historia: comedia, romance, inesperados giros en la trama… tenía muchísimo tiempo sin disfrutar de una producción coreana, y para ser honesto esta es la segunda que veo de este tipo. La primera fue “escalera al cielo”, la cual curiosamente es mencionada en Crash Landing on You, y sí, eso hizo un notable nudo en mi garganta. Fue imposible no familiarizarme tanto con este dorama, sobre todo porque la protagonista se sorprendía con el grado de carencia en norcorea, algo así como:
“¿Les cortan la energía eléctrica?” “¿Guardan la carne en la sal?” “¿Cocinan a parrilla y no a gas?” “¿No tienen agua caliente?” Recordé tanto a mi país cada vez que escuché a Yoon Se-ri quejarse por la escases de la vida avanzada solo existente en los países desarrollados. Fue gracioso, aunque también algo triste.
Ri Jeong and Yoon Se-ri, even though they both lived on different ends of the Korean peninsula (one end with a lot of technology and the other with a lot of repression, XD) manage to cultivate a powerful connection. The journey to freedom connects them and allows them to erase that old vision that they both had about their countries. The most unusual of all is that, although they love each other, neither of them manages to completely discard their ideological currents. What I like about dramas is the genuine way in which they tell a story: comedy, romance, unexpected plot twists... I haven't enjoyed a Korean production in a long time, and to be honest this is the second I've seen of them. this type. The first was “stairway to heaven”, which is interestingly mentioned in Crash Landing on You, and yes, that made a noticeable lump in my throat. It was impossible not to become so familiar with this drama, especially since the protagonist was surprised by the degree of lack in North Korea, something like:
“Do they cut off the electricity?” “Do they keep the meat in the salt?” “Do they cook on a grill and there is no gas?” "Don't you have hot water?" I remembered my country so much every time I heard Yoon Se-ri complain about the scarcity of advanced life only existing in developed countries. It was funny, but also kind of sad.
Este Dorama es muy largo, o sea, cada episodio se pasa de la hora de duración. Pero no llega a ser aburrido, ni mucho menos pesado. Es una historia muy divertida y romántica, con los toques de amor tan bonitos que caracterizan estas producciones y que discrepan en lo absoluto de las telenovelas latinoamericanas, al menos en su mayoría. Además, el aspecto visual es encantador: paisajes verdes y rurales que contrastan con pintorescos pueblitos y a la vez imponentes ciudades. Se trata de eso: de contrastes.
Crash Landing on You es un dorama que vale cada segundo, ideal si además quieres conocer desde otra perspectiva el conflicto que sumerge a la península coreana. Es un amor entre trincheras en el que la libertad es subjetiva y el amor es inexorable.
