Some games have stigma around them. See why they're frowned upon.
Minecraft. “What are you, 12?”
Because of the relaxed and casual pace, usually loved by kids and architects of all ages, if you play minecraft and your friends don't, then they might think you don't like any actual challenge. Maybe they just didn't give the game a fair chance.
Counter-Strike or League of Legends. “You must not know any other games.”
A lot of people are content with the first layer of the gaming world, and that's really all they've come to know. Often not even have heard of any indie gems, Summoner's Rift and AK-47 skins are everything on some of these gamers' minds.
Minesweeper. “Wow, you REALLY are a nerd, aren’t you.”
How this thing works is a mistery to almost anyone who's watching you beat intermediary difficulty in under 60 seconds. To them, you are a lost legend, a true geek.
Nekopara. “Weeb.”
Well, you had it coming. This lewd visual novel comes with a "chest bounciness" adjustible setting. What could you expect?
PUBG or GTA V. “Tasteless mainstream fanboy.”
You might think PUBG is good despite the hackers or spend a lot of quality time playing gansgter, but admit it, you started playing these because it's hot. It's so wildly popular and everyone else is playing it, how could you not try.
I'm just playing devil's advocate here, and although I do share some of the opinions I described, to each their own! What's really important is having fun. Long live minesweeper.
