Awoken by a whisper in the dark
Ahead of me is the door which I unlock
Stepped outside to meet the dark sky,
Welcoming me into it's shade
Before the dawning of the sun.
It's much too early for me to be awake
What am I doing outside?
There's something in the dark I need to take
But I'm afraid to venture into the other side
Fearing for my sanity at stake.
A brashness of bravery overtakes my better judgement
I leap forward and accept the gift of the night
The darkness tries to swallow me
But I refused to give in without a fight.
I'm sleeping away into nothingness
A warm hand touches my heart and I awake to brightness
Who could have saved me?
A mysterious figure carrying me back to bed.
As he lays me back to rest
My weary eyes glance open and I feel freed.
Still who saved me?
The mysterious figure steps out from the shadows
And stands there freely
He lifts his head and I see his face
And realised that I was staring right back at me!
