A series of questions I'd like to see answered clearly and concisely, without reference to long posts. I feel overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of my ignorance. The mountain of things I realize I need to read and catch up with is daunting.
can one vote for more than a "witness"? if yes, how does then the vote split?
is the voting continuous or running in periods (every x months or years like in real-world democracies)?
I think I understood the notions of "STEEM" and "STEEM Power" and even the "SBD" but not quite - notably not all the obscure stuff around "price feeds". Where do these price feeds come from, exchanges? And exactly how are they used ?
The SBD and SP (and the split between the two) rewards on posts and comments come from voting. But the fact that they are displayed with a "$" sign next to them (is it intended to mean US$ ?) does not help when on the rewards page I see the figures in SBD and SP. I don't care that my post made, say "$3.08", I would much rather see this as "SBD 1.4 + SP 0.014" or something similar.
I seem to remember "reputation" influences the bandwidth, can someone confirm that? But if yes, how? What's the relationship between reputation and MB of posts that can be posted per day?
I definitely still need more effort to understand "VESTS" - what is their purpose, how they are generated, etc.
(if only it was that simple ...)
I stop here but not before asking one last question: Who and why has translated the Steemit subtitle in French as "Présentations sur la monnaie" ? I speak both French and English and I cannot guess what that translation means nor refers to ...
