Street Art
I had a pleasant surprise of street art, while visiting the city of Barquisimeto in Venezuela, under the bridge near the obelisk there are murals that beautify the area, they are paintings with faces of famous people of the city: musicians, writers, painters, artisans, sculptors, cultors, among others; all are drawn with pastel colors, fresh and pleasing to the eye.
They are works made by different people, artists who immortalized other artists in this road artery, it is a good way to educate the population sowing seeds of culture and to exalt the work that these people did in life, also to promote the talent that exists in the art of the mural.
Arte Callejero
Me llevé una grata sorpresa de arte callejero, mientras conocía la ciudad de Barquisimeto en Venezuela, debajo del puente cerca del obelisco existen murales que embellecen la zona, son pinturas con rostros de personajes ilustres de la ciudad: músicos, escritores, pintores, artesanos, escultores, cultores, entre otros; todos aparecen dibujados con colores pasteles, frescos y agradables a la vista.
Son obras hechas por distintas personas, artistas que inmortalizaron a otros artistas en esta arteria vial, es una buena forma de educar a la población sembrando semillas de cultura y de enaltecer el trabajo que hicieron en vida estas personas, también de promover el talento que existe en el arte del mural.
They converted an area that is generally dark, gray and dirty into a recreational area because under the bridges of Latin America what exists is garbage, danger, people in street conditions, this area was transformed into a recreational space with a natural environment that serves as a place for recreation and cultural expression.
That day there were families enjoying this space, you could see parents playing with children with their cars parked under the bridge and sitting in the areas set up for this function.
Convirtieron un área que generalmente es oscura, gris y sucia a un área de recreación porque debajo de los puentes de América Latina lo que existe es basura, peligro, personas en condición de calle, esa área la transformaron en un espacio recreativo con un ambiente natural que sirve de esparcimiento y de expresión cultural.
Ese día habían familias disfrutando de este espacio, se podían ver padres jugando con niños con sus autos estacionados debajo del puente y sentados en las áreas acondicionadas para esta función.
I wanted to visit all the murals because there are quite a few, since the bridge is extensive, but it was impossible because I was on an excursion trip and we stopped for a brief moment to take pictures elsewhere, we also passed by a traffic circle where the emblem of the city is, We also passed by a roundabout where the emblem of the city is, "la tinaja" which is a large replica of a clay cup that was used to store water in the past and today has become many things such as a container for planting plants, napkin holder, ornament and more, it is a symbol that represents the state for its handicrafts.
Yo quería recorrer todos los murales porque son bastantes, ya que el puente es extenso, pero fue imposible porque andaba en una excusión de viaje y nos detuvimos un breve momento para sacarnos fotos en otra parte, también pasamos por una redoma donde está el emblema de la ciudad, “la tinaja” que es una réplica grande de una taza de arcilla que se usaba para almacenar agua antiguamente y que en la actualidad se ha convertido en muchas cosas como recipiente para plantar matas, servilletero, adorno y más, es un símbolo que representa el estado por sus artesanías.
This is the first time I visit this part of my country, this city gives a good example that you can improve the appearance of a place using creativity, I would like that good things are replicated and hopefully other states copy this street art, I hope you liked this publication, see you soon.
