First of all, I want to congratulate the winners of the Hivechess tournament season 21, round 6: ,

.
As an amateur player, I honestly play very few tournaments. This season, I've only missed one game so far, and for the previous one, I was 10 minutes late. Tournaments are fun, but I'm really not used to playing Blitz; less than 5 minutes drives me crazy 馃ぃ. In this round, I was matched with quite a few strong players; even though they play with less time, they still end up checkmating me 馃槃. The level of the masters, and in general, is high. I admire the skill they have.
This game that I'm highlighting was one I won by a miracle, against stranger27 (1661). I'll leave you the game and let's review what happened.
First, I find out that there's an opening called the "Rat Defense" 馃ぃ, how funny. It's the one I used, and according to what Lichess tells me, I had to Google it to learn about it. It says it's an easy-to-learn chess system that involves fianchettoing both bishops, developing the knights, and castling, usually on the kingside. This strategy is solid and defensive, but it also has counterattacking potential, especially against White's center.
And that was effectively my opening 馃槅. You learn something new every day.
A serious mistake advancing the pawn, giving him free rein to capture my rook on G8.
After several moves and exchanges, my opponent is flagged for a serious mistake for moving the queen, moving it away from the d1 square which it was defending.
Here I fell asleep; I should have played the bishop, just as it's marked for me, to continue with the check.
Another key mistake from my friend, who instead of placing the Queen on e6, captured the pawn on f6. Surely a misclick, he had about 15 seconds left.
I even missed a mating sequence. It points out the bishop on f1 to me again, I didn't see it, but I wanted to keep giving checks.
My opponent ran out of time before I did, and I came out victorious. I'm going to research this Rat opening more 馃槅.
I share the complete game with you: / Les comaparto la partida completa:
