In the climate of today's society in the United States, things don't feel united. Two candidates are running for the highest power in the land, 1 has never help a political office & shoots from the hip with his statements. The other is as untrustworthy as R. Kelly at a middle school prom. The citizens are at odd because minorities want equality & others think they want superiority. In spite of all the issues, sports seems to bring people together, for better or worse. You're not judged by your skin tone when you share rooting interest, so for 2 and a to 4 hrs at a time, the United States are actually united. Michael Jordan fans remember the good ole days, Lebron fans are basking in his greatness. It's crazy, reminds me of the height of the crips & bloods in the 90s when cousins would be in 2 different gangs, and come together for family functions but fight in the streets. On the other hand, just like in sports, we feel that if it's not on our side, it's bad & is the enemy. There is a select few of us who impathy & can see a point of view that isn't their own, but that is few. To say 1 player is better than the other but not take into account the teammates, coaches, era & system is not a full view of that situation. To categorize 1 group of people in 1 light without taking into account of what they've done or have been through is not a full view of the situation. I learned a lot from sports back in my younger days, and still am today. We need to help each other as much as we help ourselves
