Lohri a festival celebrated across Northern India with lots of joy and fun.
An important festival among Punjab, Himachal Prades.celebrated on 13-January of every year.
It mark the begining of Harvesting of the Rabi crop. Some beliefs that the auspicious day also mark end of Winter season as lord Sun movement as the Day time will start to get smaller and night longer.
The festival is celebrated in evening and by burning bonfire. The arrangement start with making a bonfire of woods
Once the fire sets in the mood of people swings in the joyful mood.
People use to dance, sings al together moving around the bonfire. A perfect arrangement to kill the chill in winter
People use to distribute popcorns , groundnut . they eat as well as use to put it in the fire. It is kind of worshiping lor fire by giving them the prasad. The small white chunks and all is what sprwad all over.
As fire keep engulfing the wood and making the atmosphere very warm. The dancing, the bonfire, the crowds make it a special momement.
Yesterday being the the friday, with mostly people off on weekends, the festival celebrated at our office too. All the pictures were shots at night in office with office cilleagues. With full on fun DJ Bonfire and dances...really had a good time.
