Buddhism holds a special place in Indian society. It is in India that Gautam Budha taken the sermon. Sarnath is one of the popular pilgrimage sites for the Bhuddhist. Sarnath is considered to be the place of bhuddism origin. With many dignatories visiting the place, they have built a magnificent temple at Sarnath in the 1933. The temple has become a well-known tourist spot in recent year. The temple was built by the Thai dignatories so the temples architecture resembles a lot like the Thailand culture. That why, the place is also known as The Thai Temple.
The main attraction of the place is a 80 Feet tall Buddha statue in standing position. Which can be visible from a distant. Other than this, the temple also houses three different effigies of Lord Buddha in various postures that are placed beneath a tree. All three effigies have the buddha teaching written on them. People who so ever visit this place spend time and try to accumulate the teaching in their life.
The magnificent temple compound, has a well-manicured garden right at the entrance. Which makes the place quite lively. There are images of Buddha, water fountain and gorgeous Lotus flower, giving the place an alluring touch to the entire complex.
The entrance to the temple building is very simple structured. The Thai songs an slogans can be heard chanted at the temple. Making it a place of immense peace. As soon you enter the building, you will be cut from rest of the world.
The temple houses Lord Buddha statue in Bhumisparsha Mudra, where is is touching the earth to summon the mortal spirit. The place was decorated with many lamps and vases.
It was quite lively place with thai fragrance and decoration filled the room. The temple also houses different statue. Here are some more picture from within the temple complex.
I enjoyed visiting the place again and again. Moreover there is no restriction on photography unlike all other religious places. People can take as much picture as possible, to capture the moment for life. However need to choose a better time as visiting this place in summer is quite tiring due to extreme heat condition.
