I want to inspire and encourage more positive vibes on Steemit. Comedy is one approach I'm taking, and this series here is my second.
Here's Your Daily Dose Of Faith In Humanity & Good Karma!
[Where There's A Will, There's A Way] Sue Austin is an artist whose health condition eventually "refined" her to using a wheelchair. In her own words: "People’s reaction completely changed towards me. It was as if they couldn’t see me anymore, as if an invisibility cloak had descended."
Thankfully, Sue refused to accept the newfound judgment of others, and pushed forward to continue her love of the arts. With research and development support, she realized a dream no one had thought was possible at first, but her. This is actual footage of her visual artistry and acrobatics in her "impossible" underwater wheelchair, which shows that limits are often temporary illusions imposed by those who don't dare to dream hard enough. The wheelchair is fittingly name "Portal." It's her vehicle for joy and transformation. She feels like she can fly...
One of her goals is to change how people perceive and stereotype those who need to use wheelchairs, and she did a pretty damn good job for me today. How can we apply her wisdom to other aspects of our lives? Watch her amazing TedX talk here: Link
[Love Knows No Bounds] ... Or boundaries. Where you were born, your complexion, what religion you were raised with, and/or whatever historical drama your heritage has with another, can and should be irrelevant these days. Be the change you want to see. See people for who they are inside and the world will be a better place.
[Honor] This was Bretagne, the last search and rescue dog that served in 9/11 rescue efforts, on their final march to be put down for health reasons. No more words are necessary here. Just soak up this picture for what it's worth and give your pets some extra attention today.
