There are some good games tonight in College Basketball but one of them is sure to be great. The 25th ranked Michigan Wolverines head into dangerous waters as they play at the 3rd ranked Purdue Boilermakers. The game tips off at 6pm Central Standard Time and can be seen on National Television on ESPN. The game takes place at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Indiana. The Boilermakers are favored by 9.5 points and the over/under is 136.
Michigan enters the game at 17-5 and coming off a home win against Rutgers. They are currently in 4th place in the Big 10 and looking to improve their resume with a road win against top team. Scoring has not come easy this year for the Wolverines. They only have 3 starters averaging in double figures with Charles Matthews leading the way with 14.6 points per game. Mortiz Wagner is second on the team with 14.3 points per game.
Purdue enters the game at 19-2 and have not lost since November. They have one of the best offenses in the country and it has led them to first place in the Big Ten at 8-0. The Boilermakers have TWO 7 footers on their team with Haas and Haarms. They combine for over 4 blocks per game and are dominant on the boards. Their leading scorer though is sophomore Carsen Edwards. He is averaging 17.2 points on the season and shooting the ball with great confidence.
Tonight’s game is going to come down to pace. Although Purdue likes to utilize their height on the blocks, they still push the ball at a fast pace. Will Michigan be able to keep up? It will be difficult. The crowd will also be a factor tonight. A prime time conference game like this on ESPN will have the student section going nuts. Michigan will have their hands full.
