The Philadelphia 76ers hosted the Chicago Bulls at the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday night. Both teams are coming off loses. The 76ers lost to the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night while the Bulls lost a heartbreaker in New Orleans the previous night, giving up a 18 point lead in the fourth quarter.
The 76ers took advantage of the Bulls in their second game of a back-to-back early in the first quarter, building up to a 13-point lead. The Bulls pulled within four midway through the second period. From that point the Bulls were outscored by 10 throughout the rest of the half. The 76ers Ben Simmons had a very productive half, two assists shy of recording a triple-double.
Philadelphia was able to add four more to their lead after three periods, virtually putting the game out of reach for the fatigued Chicago lineup. The reserves played much of the last quarter as the 76ers emerged victorious 115-101.
Simmons was able to complete his 5th triple-double of the season early in the third quarter, finishing with 19 points, 17 rebounds, 14 assists alongside Joel Embid’s points. Bobby Portis lead Chicago with points and 11 rebounds in the loss.
