Match Preview
The Spurs and the Warriors will open up the 2016-2017 regular season facing one another! Each of these teams have won a championship in the past five years, and both of these teams are looking forward to picking up another Championship this year! Without a doubt, this will be a very interesting and entertaining match to watch!
Interesting Facts
Throughout the history of the NBA, the Spurs, and the Warriors have played 160 regular season games; the Spurs have won 104 and the Warriors have won 56.
This is the Spurs first season opener since Nov. 1, 1996 without Tim Duncan!
This will be Kevin Durant’s first regular season game as a Warrior
San Antonio Spurs
Last year, San Antonio finished their regular season with a record of 67-15 and ended up losing in the playoffs to Oklahoma City in the second round. The biggest news for the Spurs this off-season has been the retiring of Tim Duncan, who played his whole 18-year NBA career with the Spurs! Although they lost Tim Duncan, they picked up the FA, Pau Gasol, to fill in his spot! Gasol recently played for the Chicago Bulls, and he was a big key to their success!
According to ESPN, San Antonio is ranked #3 in the Power Rankings for the 2016-17 NBA season.

As shown above, Danny Green and Jonathon Simmons are the only injured Spurs. Danny Green is a starter for the Spurs so it will be quite interesting to see how Kyle Anderson can play the huge role Danny Green has! Jonathon Simmons comes off the bench so his injury does not affect the Spurs whatsoever.
Golden State Warriors
Golden State has been the main topic this off-season as they signed the future Hall of Famer in Kevin Durant! Durant will be playing along side two other super-stars in Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson; the media’s concern is that these three super-stars will not be able to coordinate with each other very well. Through the pre-season, they proved the media wrong as they all did coordinate very well, but, the pre-season is nothing like the regular season!
Last season, the Warriors defied all odds and went 73-9 in the regular season and by doing so, they now hold an NBA record for most wins in a regular season! Unfortunately, after the record-breaking season, they lost the Championship series against the Cleveland Cavaliers 1-4. This season, the Warriors are projected to win 67 games which is less than last year; but who knows?! They may be able to break their own record they set last year!

How to Play
Vote on the main post to enter the bet (main post rewards will also be added to the Stake Pool).
Cast your Vote Bet on ONLY ONE outcome for which you bet on for the win (Multiple comment votes will be automatically disqualified by the script, unvote and revote counts as multiple votes and will be disqualified).
After 24 hours, the post and related game comments payout to the pool; remember 25% voters rewards are deducted from the total post payout value first as per Steem curation rules. Voters are rewarded in standard fashion in proportion to their Steem Power holdings.
The Stake Pool:
The remaining 75% of the total payout is paid out in 50% Steem Power and 50% in liquid currencies, the latter now varies in payout ratio after the new fork. To make the process less complicated, we have decided to use all paid out SBD to buy Steem in the internal market to create a grand total Steem Stake Pool.
30% of the Stake Pool will be retained, of which 15% will go to the writer/sports presenter of the post, and the 15% balance towards editing, development and advertising.
70% of the Stake Pool will be held until the event/game outcome is determined.
Once the winning outcome is determined, we will execute a proprietary developed script that will divide and pay out the Steem rewards equally, using the Power Up method, to Mass Distribute SP to all participants that voted on the main post as the entrance fee as well as voted on the correct comment representing the winning outcome.
Only participants with a Reputation of 35 or more will qualify to earn SP rewards, but non-qualifiers can still vote and comment in support of the redistribution initiative.
Entry cut-off time is the earlier of the post payout or the start of the event.
