Description from Strava:
I needed to rest on Monday after all my weekend running and I was in the office yesterday, so today was my next opportunity for a run. I am looking to try some different workouts to improve my speed and endurance. This guy is talking about getting down to a 20 minute 5k, which is way out of reach, but I tried his web app that suggests a training regime. I may not be able to stick to it, but I will take inspiration.
His suggestion was 10-15 minutes of jogging then two hard sets of 10 minutes with 2 minutes between them followed by cooling down jog. I tried for 8 minutes and found it hard. The first one was mostly uphill and I kept running as best I could. On the second I got to about 6 minutes and then needed a bit of a walk before doing the last minute. That was as much as I could manage, but I will see if I can improve on that. You cannot expect immediate results as the body needs to adapt.
We are looking after some chickens for a neighbour this week so I popped in to feed them. We are getting the extra eggs so I decided to have fried eggs and mushrooms on toast for breakfast instead of my usual cereal. Some extra protein may do me good on the running front. It was rather nice.
It is looking like a nice day. I did a little gardening after work yesterday and may do more today as it stays light for longer. This is great for my solar panels that are earning us some money right now.
Happy humpday and run free!
