I will be volunteering at parkrun tomorrow, so I felt I could run today even though it was going to be another easy one.
I quite like running around the fields on the other side of the railway, but I had heard that the path I used was going to be closed for a while due to the building work. There is a new alternative so I thought I would check that out. I went down the wrong way to start with, but found it in the end.
It was a nice morning for running and I saw another guy running over there. The fields are very open, so it is not great when windy, but today was fine and everything is dry. The fields looked like the crop had finished, whatever it was. There is a bit of farm track where they filled holes with large stones and that is not so nice to run on, but I had no issues.
I was checking my heart rate again after adjusting the Garmin settings to match the ranges in Strava. I did better at keeping it in zone 2 nearly all the time.
This route crosses our little river twice on small bridges. There were some ducks around.
I came back over the other footbridge and down the High Street. I took a small diversion to explore a close I had not been down before, but I only just noticed on Google that it went a little further than I though. I have run along most of the roads in the village at some point, but there will be some more new ones soon. We will have a lot more houses and that may change the place a bit.
Although this was an 'easy' run I still felt like I had been working. I have to focus on running slower as that pace is less natural to me. I am not super quicker, but it might be a normal pace for others.
There is a 'repair cafe' up the road tomorrow, so I will have a look to see what is happening. I do not have anything that needs fixing, but it can be interesting plus I can get a coffee and cake there.
