Most Wednesdays you will find me at The White Horse in Arlesey with a group of friendly musicians playing songs for each other. On of the great characters there is local piano repair man Richard who is something of an inventor. Previously we had the Toblertone dulcimer. This time he turned up with a large bag containing The Hooterphone! It's a sort of lap steel made from a PA horn, an Ikea fruit bowl and part of a fireplace. It's a thing of wonder. I may not have got the full impact as it was pointed away from me.
Of course there's also beer there. Last night's tipple was British Bulldog. I have to say it didn't make a strong impression on me. It's perfectly drinkable, but not that memorable. Just no real distinctive taste going on.
Oh, you want to hear the Hooterphone! Well I can't let you down. Here's a brief clip with an Undertones tune. Richard's tastes are eclectic. We've had Spinal Tap, protest songs and classics. He never disappoints.
You can post in the #BeerSaturday challenge run by . It could win you some SBD.
Cheers!
