Steemy news
Firstly, it is unseasonal weather in the UK. I have been out in a t-shirt and light jacket and the spring flowers are up. Note that it is a Steem shirt from Steemfest, but nobody has asked me about it yet. @ReviseSociology has also been enjoying the sun.
Steem is doing okay. Better than last week anyway. The #crypto markets seem fairly stable with only single percentage digit shifts. SBD is almost back to the dollar peg. In both cases it seems this is driven mostly by Korea.
Steem in the media
I found this description of Steem on Coin Central. It sums it up fairly well, but there may be a few miinor inaccuracies. They point out that Steem has inflation built in. You can see your SP increase by itself. That could depress the price, but we have to hope that demand will counteract that. Part of me would be happy to see the price stay low for now so the bid bot abusers do not make much. I want them to go away.
I left a comment on this article about earning from writing. We need to show that Steem has an active community.
Someone on Medium suggests alternatives to Steemit to earn online, but includes DTube! I left a comment on that too.
Events
I thought I should mention some events I am attending in the UK.
- Next Wednesday there is a London Meetup organised by @Redrica. I will be along some time in the afternoon. The venue has great food, so you can just hang out there and chat.
- In April we have the second SteemCampUK in Leicester. @LloydDavis is behind @SteemCampUK and has been assisted by @Shanibeer to organise this. Tickets are cheap and you can pay with Steem if you talk to them first. I will be driving up from Bedfordshire.
I hope to meet more of you at these events. Please share any you are going to in the comments.
Follow-worthy Steemians
I thought this week that I would include some #crypto projects that use Steem. It seems like a natural place for them, free from censorship and with an audience who are into what they offer. We need to engage with them to encourage them to stick around and draw in others.
- @MannaCurrency give away their coin to users every week as a form of basic income. They have been doing lots of posts about this in the last couple of days. I have an affiliate link below if you want to sign up. It is only a cent or so each week, but I'll take what I can get. I have given some away before and may do so again.
- @CoinGecko post crypto news and analysis. Their site has a chart like Coinmarketcap, but it ranks Steem lower. Maybe they include more coins.
- @CommunityManager is the non-obvious account for the Wirex debit card (referral link also below). They are not very active and may need more interaction to get them back.
- Another source of crypto news is my old friend
. He brought me to Steem nearly three years ago.
- @MildredCat has no crypto apart from the Steem she is earning. I was able to give her one of the accounts I claimed and I have more waiting for people who want to get onto Steem.
is one of the few other people to do #FollowFriday posts. He also helps out in finding those who abuse the Steem platform.
Please add your own suggestions in the comments. What other crypto projects are here?
The doghouse
is buying votes for all his posts without getting any real engagement. Vote sellers like
should be more selective about what they support if they care about the future of Steem. Some operate blacklists, but this guy is not on any according to the the extension from @TheMarkyMark. I consider
an appropriate target for those who work with @SteemFlagRewards as he is taking from the reward pool whilst giving little back. He has over 50% self votes.
I hope you have found value in this post. Please do what you can to support and build our community. It is up to us to make it better.
