The News
As I am setting up my new PC I was not able to run my usual script to generate price charts, but here are some numbers from . $HIVE is sticking around the 6c mark, but the legacy crapcoin is dropping more. As for SBD, they obviously gave up on that years ago. I think it was worth several dollars at some point, so some people will have lost a lot of value.
It was sad to hear from that Hive-Engine was hacked this week. This seems to have affected coins with bridges to other blockchains such as Eth, BNB and Solana. I do not know the details, but with AI systems finding vulnerabilities in various things we have to be aware of how safe our funds are. I have not heard of any issues affecting the Hive blockchain itself.
I keep an eye out for any mention of Hive elsewhere online and found this on FinanceFeeds about 'social-fi' where you can earn. Unfortunately they do not provide links to any of the services and we know Hive can be hard to find due to the common name.
Friday Follows
- I often mention
who cover various news in more detail than I can.
have been posting interesting stuff lately, including this on how tricky SEO (search engine optimisation) can be.
has a band who have a new album. If you enjoy gypsy jazz then check them out.
did a review of the Richard Osman book I happen to be reading right now.
and
have a new comic called
that looks good with great artwork. There are a few other comics on Hive that I have mentioned in these posts before. I like to fill my feed with content I will enjoy.
are back with plans to shake up how music is consumed and funded. We have lots of musicians here who generally have to rely on the big corporate music platforms. We need alternatives. I have said many times that Hive can be great for musicians and their fans.
has been here for many years sharing freaky art. You can get physical versions of that to brighten your world.
Community Chest
I think that communities on Hive are underused as a way to bring like-minded people together. It does not always have to be about fishing for votes. I have created a fair few, including:
- Drumming for those who like to beat things.
- parkrun reviews to map out cool places to run.
- Whisky for discerning drinkers.
What are your favourite communities for your interests? I think they work best by focusing on specific things.
The End
I have heard that some disgruntled people accuse me of being part of some secret Hive elite. That is laughable really as you would expect my posts to do a lot better if I were. I am always very open about what I do here. I do not conspire against anyone or do deals for votes. I have mostly avoided getting too involved in anything around finance as I am here to have fun without worrying too much about what I earn. I know it is different for others so I use the Hive Power I have built up to support those who deserve it.
I was involved in anti-abuse years ago, but have hardly downvoted anything recently and that is only for blatant abuse such as plagiarism. I will stand by whatever I did for that and it is all public on the chain. I doubt you can find any trace of me actually being nasty to anyone who was not engaged in abuse and even then I tried to be civil as I know that things can come back to haunt you.
I have not powered down in ages, but I may consider it to pay towards going to Hivefest. It is not like anyone else is going to pay for me to go and I would not expect them to. Barcelona will not be the cheapest venue, but it is a cool city.
Have a great weekend and Hive five!
