For a change I'm not working today, so I thought I'd go for a run. We're off for a few days in Berlin this week. I hope to do some running there and I see there is a parkrun near where we are staying, so I'll try to do that. Any Steemians in the area?
I decided to stay away from the main roads as there would be lots of schoolkids cluttering the pavements. I took the footpath that has a bridge over the railway and headed across the fields. This was partly an excuse to give my trail shoes another outing and I was glad of the extra grip. The route is a mix of farmer's tracks and some footpaths across the fields. It's fairly flat.
There were some dog walkers around as usual. I was crossing a field listen to my podcast (Security Now) when I heard someone shouting and then felt something hit my legs. It was a boxer dog that I think was just being friendly. After that it just ran off again and I was left with a muddy leg. No damage done, but it made me jump a bit.
I header back to #Arlesey across the meadow with the traveller horses and over the other footbridge. I had to go carefully as the pavements were a little icy and the trail shoes are not so good on that. I had a near slip crossing an icy road. I did a lap of the playing field to use the outdoor gym for some pull-ups, dips and hurdles. It's not as fancy as the Stevenage one, but I ought to make more use of it. I needed my gloves there as the metal bars were very cold.
I warmed up with a shower and some coffee after my breakfast on my return. I need to get packed for our trip, but I'll be checking Steem before I set off and should be on-line most of the week. For now we still have mobile roaming in Europe at the same rates as at home.
