Hello my dear Steemians,
Today's topic came to my mind spontaneous while I was cleaning up the house. My son still has his old toys and I noticed majority of them are Teddy Bears. Therefore I decided to search a bit about the history of "Teddy Bear" in first instance.
I found that there are two stories or versions of invention of Teddies, one is German and another American.
German Version:
In 1902 Richard Steiff the nephew of Margarete Steiff, who invented stuffed animal toys. One of them was on store window and was seen by Secretary of US-President Theodore „Teddy“ Roosevelt who gifted it to the daughter of Roosvelt. She in her place was so happy with that toy that named the bear after her father's nickname "Teddy". From that time all bears started to be called "Teddies"
American Version:
Now, American version but again the same character Theodore „Teddy“ Roosevelt played his role and it was in 1902. Mr. Roosevelt was a fan of hunting, but once his friends wanted to make a gift a tied up on robe baby-bear that President had to shoot, but Roosevelt refused to do so. That event was in all newspaper, once the Russian immigrant Morris Michton saw it and decided to use for his store window, according him Roosevelt gave him permission to call that Bear "Teddy". It became very popular so that Michtom grounded a Toy Company that was selling Teddy-Bears. In America 9th of September is called "Teddy-Bear Day"
As always little sketch to have idea of place and proportion:
My first layer of colours, mostly more darker so that I light make them lighter later if it is needed:
The lower part of body now covered with colour too:
To make a contrast I decided to use blue for background (another reason for that I have a lot of blue colour and the others are already half empty :)
!
Usually I wait a night and make highlights with lighter colours in the morning when other colours are already dried up. Signature and date, it is today 17/07/18
