Yesterday, after reading 's post, I decided to finally create my first post on Golos. You can see it here: https://golos.io/en/@stellabelle/first-post-on-golos-thanks-to-ramta
One of the reasons I hadn't yet posted is because I didn't think I could write in English on Golos. I thought I had to write it in Russian. I learned yesterday that I can write in English on Golos, using the tag "en." So I gave it a whirl yesterday and followed others into the newest Russian Steemitesque blockchain social media site. Since Rump and Putin are best friends, I guess American Steemit and Russian Steemit should be, too. My brother speaks fluent Russian and so does his wife, but all my attempts to get them onto Steemit and Golos have failed so far.
HERE ARE THE TOP THREE REASONS YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT GOLOS AND WRITE A BLOG POST ON THERE:
1. I DIDN'T SEE A SINGLE POST ABOUT FLAG WARS ON GOLOS.
Honestly, it was refreshing to scan through a lot of posts that I couldn't read, none of which contained anything relating to flags. What a relief! It was relaxing! All the posts that I could read in the "en" section were superficial, fun introduceyourself-style posts that showed cute puppies, scenic beach scenes, pasty guys in front of computer monitors and people gazing vapidly out of breezy windows. It was kind of like I had gone into a time warp, back to the glory days of Steemit again! I read through all the "en" posts within 15 minutes and felt a great sense of accomplishment. I had the same feeling as I do whenever I ride on an airplane with strangers. It was pleasant, mostly because I only spent a very short time doing it and I got to leave when I was done sitting in my section.
2 INCOME OPPORTUNITIES
My Introduceyourself To Golos post made 358.41 in Golos coin. Don't ask me to tell you how much that is in dollars or even Bitcoin. I haven't the foggiest idea, and my head hurts from doing my Bitcoin Capital Gains and Losses tax preparation from earlier this morning, so there's no way I'm going to try and calculate what the hell that number represents. The only thing I know is that before I made my post I made a big fat zero in author rewards on Golos. Plus 358.41 sounds a lot more impressive than the measley $3.41 or whatever I made from my last Steemicide Hotline video. Although, was overjoyed and confessed that my Steemicide video was the most thoughtful and wonderful thing anyone has created for her, so in heart units, I really received 30,000 Karen hearts from my video. It was totally worth doing to find out that Karen was overfilled with joy upon seeing my video.
3. YOU WILL RE-LEARN WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE A NEWBIE AND HAVE MORE COMPASSION
If you've been in Steemit a long time, you may have forgotton what it's like to be a newbie. It kind of sucks! You don't know how to upload photos or use Markdown. You're assaulted by the amount that the top trending author is making and you're not even sure what the numbers in your wallet mean. You write a "help me" post but few or zero people respond to it. You're not sure who to trust or what to do, how to write or what to write about. When I found myself in the new Golos ecosystem, I felt small, really small, just like I did on Steemit when I first joined.
I will never forget my very first day in Steemit! Dan reprimanded me for not formatting my post correctly! It was kind of a horrible feeling actually. I got over it sure, but it's bad when you first get into a new environment and have no f*cking idea what you're doing. My compassion level went up significantly after experiencing time in Golos as a total noob. I'm going to experience it some more because I feel like I saw different people, different posts and new behaviors to emulate. It's good to get some fresh air in a different ecosystem and diversify myself a bit.
