There are several families of viruses. Human Immunodeficiency Virus is the virus that causes AIDS in humans and it belongs to the retro virus family. Two strain of HIV have the same modes of transmission and result in identical clinical manifestations, there are differences in diseases progression rates. It also, possible to be infected by both strains of HIV simultaneously.
HIV - 1 is the most common strain, with transmission occurring globally.
HIV - 2 is most commonly found in Africa in WEST Africa.
Retroviruses such as HIV contain RNA in their genome. HIV infects and reproduce itself mainly in certain cells of the body known as CD4 + T cells, which are characterized by the presence of CD4 receptors on their surface and constitute the main target of HIV, CD4, a type of White Blood Cell, plays a fundamental, role in the body's immune system in the whole body.
The whole truth about HIV is that it's a dangerous disease which has the capability to kill human beings but it can also be contained, don't allow the fear of death to cut your short or pre-mature.

HIV is easily destroyed outside the human body. It can not withstand exposure to temperature above 60 degrees centigrade or contact with disinfectants such as fomalin, oxygenated water alcohol, acetone, penile and bleach.
