What a beautiful day it was today. Even though I was busy for most of it, it still felt deeply fulfilling. From a heartfelt conversation with my manager, to delivering the bulk of my tasks, to capping it all off with a gym session, it was as close to a perfect day as I could ask for. I’m filled with immense gratitude.
Today’s gym session felt especially good. Maybe it’s because I finally lifted 40kg dumbbells on the flat bench press, a weight I struggled with the last time. I went through a full-body session, hitting every major muscle group and pushing myself as close to failure as possible.
It got me thinking: in the gym, we see failure as a good thing, as a necessary step toward growth. But in other parts of life, we tend to reject it. We avoid it, fear it, and sometimes even let it stop us in our tracks. The truth is, failure isn’t fatal. Not if you keep going. Not if you choose to fail forward.
Just a few days ago, I felt terrible because I couldn’t lift those 40kg dumbbells. Today, I was nervous stepping up to them again, but I did it. And not just once, I got reps in. That feeling? Deeply satisfying.
Anyway, enough of the TED Talk. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the video.
