In everyday life, we come across a person who says, “I will do it tomorrow”. Then this tomorrow thing never comes, because it has become today now. Each one of us knows this person, yet we fail to acknowledge because this person lives in us. Most of us believe that our real life will being shortly. Today I am going to do this, do that, and will start tomorrow.

Will-Power over will
This “will” is not just a word, it beholds the power for everything. The only problem is we forget to use this will as will-power and we keep on postponing important things. There is this guy who has upcoming exams, he is surely going to start tomorrow, until then, he is going to do it all in his imagination. There is another guy who is going to start writing his novel, yet he thinks that he will do it later on, once the right idea appears. Then there is also another type who will keep on saying that he will do it after breakfast, in the afternoon, right before bedtime. Alas! It is time to sleep, so the will power is now all set for tomorrow.
But there is no need to worry, because soon enough, they will start preparing, they will start novel writing, or they will do it right away. He is going to wake up early, go for a morning walk, eat healthy, quit caffeine addiction, and will follow a timetable. But there is one thing: he will do it tomorrow.
In the meantime, let us watch a random guy fixing his life.
We watch people camping in the mountains; we watch people start their businesses. We watch folks falling in love with their apartments, and here, our life is falling apart, in the aftermath of “tomorrow”. The strangest part about this is that this has become completely normal. There is now an entire economy built around it. We can watch someone build their entire life in miraculous times. We can watch them waking up at five, starting with some stretching, toast and green tea, answering few emails, and then saying something remarkable. Remarkable enough to boost our internal self for few minutes as well.
We choose to REACT and not ACT
There are two things: act or react. We always prefer to choose the later one, because it is a convenient and easy way. All we have to say is: “I just need to sort few things out before starting it”. Well, it actually sounds reasonable. Most of the time, it is the money or occasionally, time. Like what good is anything in this capitalist society, when I do not even have enough to even start with something? But, wait a minute, this excuse is getting older now. The question here is, what made us assume this thing? The strange assumption here is that there will eventually be a moment when one will be a better version. One who is slightly more organized, more confident, starting from the rags, saving money, and more prepared to act rather than react.
One day, I would love to live
This charming phrase “one day” is a double-edged sword. It keeps us hanging between the dream of achieving it one day, and at the same time, making us wait for that day. Rather than making today as the starter, we just prefer to wait for that day. So, one day is the most accommodating timeline ever invented. One day asks nothing of you. One day is only possible if there is today.
Draft version of our lives.
It is not that people are being lazy; laziness would actually require a decision. What most people are facing is “provisional” thing. At least, with the laziness, we are assured of our dream, our wishes, our goals; however, provisional dreams would not even last for few days. Then we will become as shallow as we were before, and start looking for something again. We are actually living a draft version of ourselves. Just like the good dishes are saved for later. The interesting risks are postponed. The strange idea that keeps returning, the one that might make us feel uncomfortable is carefully placed into the category of later on. Meanwhile, the present continues its unfinished run. The calendar fills, weeks turned into months, months into year, and yet the feeling persists that the real narrative is somewhere ahead.
Do not wait for the right moment; be the moment
So, instead of (just) watching other people do the thing – you start the thing. How about taking the action? How about making the decision? We can work on plan B, C, D, and infinite letters; we can shift to numerical numbers. But, at least, start with the first one. Maybe apply even if you feel pre-rejected, move even it seems illogical. Just do it, do it now, because someone out there began something with absolutely no proof that it would work. The journey may have bumpy roads, but if you look deep, the journey is way more beautiful than the goal. And what good is a goal if it is easily achievable? Just stop waiting for the realization because you do not have to think about the ocean at the spot; drops will do the magic.
