Why is it that in one of the wealthiest countries in the world parents can barely afford to pay for childcare and most businesses do not pay for maternity leave...? Well it is really simple, because there is no benefit for private corporations to do so, the only goal of a corporation is to earn the most revenue/profits possible. So they corrupt the government take it over and create/eliminate laws and regulations that benefit them. Giving paid maternity leave and affordable childcare to society is bad for business because it is extra spending for them. The other countries do it because their governments are less corrupt and their politicians see that there is a benefit to decrease the financial burden of raising children on families, so those governments create laws that offer maternity leave and affordable child care for everyone...
