So if I’m completely honest I had absolutely zero desire to travel to South Africa/Africa. It wasn’t somewhere I thought I would enjoy. My boyfriend was so keen to go and even said ‘I think it will be my favourite place’. I thought ok I’ll give it a go, why not? We always try to buy 1 way tickets to places so I figured if I didn’t enjoy it then we would leave straight away. Well! We ended up staying for the 3months our visas allowed and I can’t wait to go back and visit again!!!
It blew my mind in so many ways! The landscape, scenery and nature is absolutely breath taking. Not to mention the food is delicious, the people are incredibly friendly and it’s cheap for someone coming from Australia. I'm super excited to re-live and share my favourite parts of South Africa in posts to come.
The moment you land you are greeted by the famous Table Mountain. We stayed in Camps Bay for $30 a night in our own private room and bathroom. Unreal. Bought ourselves a bus card and we were off exploring. Actually, we had about 3 days in bed to start. The one and only time we’ve been sick in over 2.5years. Thanks to freezing freezing cold air conditioning on our flight from Dubai.
The weather is back to front and upside down, we soon learnt to dress for sunshine/moderate warmth but pack for freezing cold icy Antarctic conditions too. The weather seems to change it’s mind every 30mins and when the wind blows ooooooh it blows straight through you. We visited in October.
