Hold the vision, trust the process.
With the launch of Smart Media Tokens and the diversification of the Steem blockchain, soon we're going to have a colourful landscape of tokenized web applications in front of us.
A network of smart applications, built on the very same technological basis with open, decentralized and self-sustaining eco-systems will provide internet users everything they need in order to build, create, share, curate and distribute information on a worldwide level.
Reason enough to think about possible ways to structure all the information that's going to be distributed in this fast growing network.
Here's how a Steem cockpit of the future may look like!
Here's how all our smartphone displays may look like in the near future
Let's imagine a future Steem control center
While we may perfectly imagine how to organize Android or iOS applications in our smartphones, it'll be interesting to see how multiple web applications can be managed online.
Whenever I think about the future vision of Steem, the launch of Smart Media tokens and the introduction of multiple web applications to the Steem blockchain, I imagine something like a control center - a Steem browser - from where we're able to access all our favourite Steem projects in the way we want.
All the information generated in the Steem network would be bundled at one single place.
What if we had a Steem cockpit from where we could organize and control all the content and information distributed and shared within the Steem network according to our own fields of interest?
How 's future MySteem account could look like: #surfing everywhere :-)
MySteem: A personalized content cockpit where information is provided according to my needs
That's at least how my vision of Steem looks like.
There will be multiple applications launched on the Steem blockchain in the near future, and the amount of shared information and content will be overwhelming. That's why I believe that we should think about an application like a browser that could help us to organize, structure, find and share content within the global Steem network.
All the applications built on the Steem blockchain are and will be using the same database, that's why connecting them with each other through a universal interface might be very contributive in terms of user experience and user activity. The more I enjoy my user experience, the higher my engagement.
An improved user experience will also lead to a better user retention.
Currently the gap between the total amount of newly created Steemit accounts and the number of active users in the network is growing, which means that the retention is decreasing.
Probably a smart content organization could be one step to improve these numbers. If we were able to personalize the Steem experience then everybody could consume content created on Steem in the way they like. That in combination with the announced community feature could be really a game changer!
Obviously, I just built a photoshopped castle in the air. But isn't that the way ideas are born most of the time?
Maybe one of the future apps built on this blockchain will be a browser, who knows?
Let's dream big though!
Best, Marly -
