If you remember, I mentioned that my change to a more holistic, healthy diet, resulted in quite a significant weight loss.
I have a confession... I have an absolutely wicked sweet tooth and so, making substitutions for all those sweet treats I loved became a bit of a mission.
Along the way, I discovered the Chia seed. This amazing little seed absorbs liquid and swells to make a gelatinous dessert, a lot like sago.
Chia seed is high in protein, fibre and other nutrients, unlike sago, whichever is mainly just empty starch. As my mission is to eat foods that offer optimum nutrition, the Chia seed makes the perfect substitute. You can create delicious breakfast jars, smoothie bowls and desserts, like the one in the photo.
