So, I sorta kicked this account off by talking about how beneficial the responsible usage of drugs can be when dealing with social anxiety, despite the disclaimer I include in every post I feel the need to make this one. Drugs are not the solution, they're tools you employ to make the solution (expanding your comfort zone) an easier pill to swallow. I better than anyone else understand how terrifying the prospect of having a 1 on 1 conversation with someone - who's opinion of you, you care about a bit too much - can be. However, the hard truth of the matter is that if you ever want to see any results, this is what you need to do, the things which terrify you the most.
Now a good general rule of thumb would be, if you find yourself questioning whether or not you're becoming over reliant on the usage of psychoactive substances, it's time to put them down for a while. The drugs will always be there, who you see when you look in the mirror is subject to change. Drugs are an easy way to lose yourself, and fast. With this in mind, while responsible drug usage can give you an advantage over others, irresponsible usage will be placing you at a severe disadvantage. The bottom line is, anytime you find yourself obsessing over when your next dosage is, or feeling "off" when not under the influence of something. Take a break, your mind will thank you for it. Just remember, integration is the most important stage, not the experience itself.
